Do One Thing – Ask the Family!
Take half an hour a week to talk to one of your grandparents, aunts or uncles. Go gently! Take notes and record the date your conversation took place. Ask open questions, for example:
-
Tell me about your school-days.
-
What did your father do for a living – how did he start out?
-
Where did you live when you were a child – what was the house like?
-
Did your grandfather have brothers and sisters – what were their names and birthdays?
-
Did your parents have any hobbies – what did they do when they were not working?
-
What stories did your grandmother tell you?
